About Coppa

Our History

Opened by local couple Marc Wheeler and Jessica Paris in September 2013, Coppa is Juneau’s first handmade ice cream and coffee shop. In 2014, we were named Best New Business and Best Ice Cream Shop by the Juneau Empire Reader’s Choice survey. In 2015, the business won the People’s Choice award under the Path to Prosperity competition, and was named Best Business and Best Ice Cream Shop by the Juneau Empire Reader’s Choice survey. In 2016, BuzzFeed named Coppa the most popular ice cream shop in Alaska. In 2017, Coppa won the Grand Prize in the Alaska Symphony of Seafood with our candied salmon ice cream.

At Coppa, our mission is to make people happy by offering delicious, handmade products in an environment that evokes the best of Alaskan hospitality.

We are driven by a passion for high quality coffee, tea, ice cream and food.

We love experimenting with new flavors and concepts that draw from our local community.

We want to create an inviting environment that stimulates relationships, individuals and the surrounding neighborhood.

Cafe hours:

Open 6:30 am until 5 pm Monday through Thursday, 6:30 am until 6 pm Friday, and 8 am to 6 pm Saturday

Cart hours:

Open 11 am until 8 pm daily during the summer visitor season.

Our cafe is located at 917 Glacier Avenue, next to the Federal Building. Our cart is now located in the Franklin Food Court, right next to Kindred Post at 139 S. Franklin Street.
